I'm sure you're wondering where the name Dragoons comes from. And I can tell you that it has nothing to do with Dragons. Although, that would be pretty cool. No, in fact it's a military term, and quite an old one. Justin Hackney, the founder of Dragoons Media, deployed with the 351st Military Police Company back in 2008 to Mosul, Iraq with the 1st Cavalry Division.
His military experience translated over to how the organization is ran on a day to day. We strongly value tenacity and ingenuity that the military exudes and it's our life's mission to be on the front lines of advertising.
Dragoons is a term used to describe the cavalry, dating back all the way to the 16th Century. The French officers guiding these units wore a pistol with the head of a dragon on the grip. Through the centuries, the nickname just stuck around. We see it fitting, given the strong influence of the Cavalry on our business, that we keep the traditions live.
